New Team Member Ordained to The Priesthood

Next Tuesday, 14th November, is the feast of
Saint Lawrence O’Toole, the patron of our
diocese. This day also marks the ordination to
the priesthood of two young men for our diocese,
Bill O’Shaughnessy and James Daly. We are
blessed to have had Bill join our team in the
recent past and he will remain with us into the
foreseeable future. Bill hails from Castledermot,
Co. Kildare and he has worked as a deacon for
the last year in St. Matthews Church,
Ballyfermot. It is a mark of trust in our team and
parishioners that the Archbishop has entrusted a
newly ordained Priest to our care. Bill will be
ordained at 11am in the Pro Cathedral and will
celebrate his first Mass in Castledermot on
Wednesday, 15th November, at 7.00pm. Having
had a couple of weeks to ‘recover’ Bill will join
us fulltime from the First Sunday of Advent. He
will be available that weekend to offer his
blessing of the newly ordained after Masses.
Please keep Bill in your prayers during these last
days of preparation and pray for his fruitful
ministry with us for many years to come.
All our parishioners are welcome to attend the
ordination.
